1.5V To 220V AC Inverter

A device or circuit which is used to convert DC current into AC current is called inverter/converter.  The input voltages, output voltage, and frequency and overall power handling depend on the specific device or circuit design. we are going to design a simple inverter 1.5v to 220v ac inverter.

To answer this for a specific application, more information is needed. I’ll try to give a shot at answering, based on some assumptions. It is possible, but not practical because we can change DC 1.5 dc to AC but output current will not pure AC and powerful to run any ac appliances.

Assumptions for 1.5V to 220 AC circuit

We assume that you want to convert the 1.5V DC provided by a 1.5v battery to 220V. To keep it simple, we also assume that you want 220 V DC, and not 220 V AC from the given power.
We assume that by 1.5V you are talking about a standard 1.5v Alkaline Battery. We will use an AA size in this example and  our circuit is 100% efficient, meaning for every Watt we put into our circuit we get a Watt out. In reality, we never can get 100% output as given input.
Now we talk about power or Watts. When converting voltages in electronics, you are really converting power. So what is a Watt? Watts = Voltage x Current. To get 1 Watt from your 1.5V battery, the battery will source 0.667 Amps into the load.
220V devices require more than 0.00454 Amps. Looking at the output, going back to the battery. Let us assume that needs 220V also requires 1 Amp. Our equation to calculate Watts: W = 220V x 1 A,A. The battery will need to provide 220 Watts. In order for the battery to source 220 Watts, it will need to provide 146.6 Amp! That’s not going to happen with an Alkaline Battery. We already have a perfect voltage converter, so let us assume, one more time, and say that the battery can supply 145.6 amps. An AA battery is rated for about 2500 mAh. This means the battery would be drained in about 1 minute. These numbers are all based on ideal components and conditions. In the real world, it just doesn’t make sense.
